I have been writing about entrepreneurs in conflict regions since 2005. So often the work of women in war is overlooked, but on-the-ground stories show that it is frequently women who make the difference between survival and starvation for their family during conflict. And they do it through business. My work gives me the privilege of meeting entrepreneurs all around the world who have struggled through extraordinary challenge and overcome daunting obstacles to create jobs and hope. The backdrop may be different than entrepreneurs in the US and elsewhere face, but the principle of entrepreneurship remains the same: find an opportunity and make the most of it, not just for yourself, but for all those who depend on you.
I hope you will continue to check back here to meet some of these amazing entrepreneurs. And please write to me on the Contact page if you have an entrepreneurship story you want to share.
